Boundary Stone

The Mono Monday theme is "Besides', well this Parish Boundary Stone has stood beside the old A11 London to Norwich road for well over 150 years. I grew up in the house exactly opposite this stone, our house fell into the parish of Quendon, and our postal town was Saffron Walden in Essex. The other parish was Ugley and their postal town was Bishops' Stortford in Hertfordshire.

Years ago the stone stood out well about six feet from the kerb, sadly now it's overgrown and only just visible.

The extra is a part of the 1846 Ordnance Survey Map, the BS in the centre marks the stone position.
