Acts of deliberate notice

Up with the sun

Since it has been far too hot to be out in the heat of the day, D and I got up early to go for a walk before the temperatures rose too high. We walked around the lake, seeing dragonflies and grebes, and surprising a dog walker who didn't expect to see us.

The rest of the day was spent trying to stay cool indoors, mostly doing a jigsaw. Then in the evening we went out again, this time to look for bats. It was such a beautiful, clear, starry night, and there were loads of them out feasting on the bugs that had come out in the hot weather.
