Wisdom Begins In Wonder

The Love Duck

We landed in Seoul a little late after maybe 2 hours sleep at most we managed onto the metro link into the city thinking we’d only be making that journey again in reverse. #foreshadowing
Anyway I realised that the step by step guidance to our hotels in our travel packet gave us two different stations to get off at depending on whether you went with the pictures or the text. Put my money where my mouth was and got off where the picture told us and a few others came with me. Turns out I was right and the hotel was only a few blocks away from the station.
Dropped our bags at the hotel and we went for a wander and some food until we could check in. Turns out it’s really hard to find places to eat in Seoul that can fit 12 adults without prior booking but we found somewhere and ended up ordering a sharing platter of bulgogi chicken with cheese fondue. Not entirely sure we realised that when ordering but it was delicious.
Spent the evening wandering up to to the top of Namsam Mountain. A fancy funicular railway to get us to the cable car station then a ride to the top on the cable cars. The views were amazing and it made you realise just how large a city Seoul is as everywhere you looked high rise buildings just disappeared off into the distance.
Got caught in some torrential rain on the way back to the hotel. Dinner was effectively sweet chilli chicken balls from the Meyongdong street market and then a relatively early night.
