Wear and tear

This canal bridge always impresses me. The spur below leads to Glascote canal basin. In the years of horse drawn boats the horse would have to go up and over the bridge and the rope wore away this groove in the bricks. I bet it wore away the rope too!

We went a lovely long walk. I was supposed top be in the garden but we just kept extending the walk. Very pleasant.
