Cautious Aside

I can't be sure he was looking back at me, but the wood duck didn't fly off so probably felt safe enough behind the fallen willow tree. I was a hundred feet or more away and didn't venture any closer. 

They are my favourite ducks because of their markings, even though these are not fully developed. I think also the red eyes make them interesting.

Although there were clouds, above them the sky was yellowy pink. It was a lovely evening.
