Walk into Arisaig

It was definitely the right decision to take the awning down last night as it was very windy (40 mph plus) and the cars van was rocking a fair bit. Despite the wind we slept well.

Looking out if the window whilst having breakfast I spotted the sight in my extra - guess they didn’t take their awning down.

Hung around the site in the morning as the fish van was due to arrive and my patience was rewarded when I heard him tooting jyst on 12. Some lovely lookjng did and scallops were quickly purchased for dinner.

We headed into the village on foot, it’s just under 2 miles and an east if hilly walk where we planned to eat lunch in the local cafe. We arrived at a good time as we got a table upstairs with views over the bay. Our order seemed to take a long time to arrive and we were just about to ask if there was a problem when the owner appeared full of apologies. A couple downstairs who arrived later had placed the sane order as us and the tickets got mixed up so they received their food first. We weren’t too bothered but she insisted on giving us some cake as recompense. We took it back with us to enjoy after dinner.

Walked back to the van via the war memorial which sits above the village and contemplated putting the awning up again but decided to wait till tomorrow as it’s still quite windy.

Used the site washing machine to take advantage of the free drying power before dinner. Scallops with chorizo accompanied by an apple salad was a new one on me but tasty. Followed that with cod baked with chickpea and tomato stew. The cake (lemon with blueberries) was a very tasty ending to the meal.

Finally caught up in journals (I think), thanks for comments and stars on mine.

Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting AbstractThursday. I’ve overlaid a shot from the beach with some heather.
