Is it an orchid? No, it's sorrel!

I've never seen a wild flower like this before, but I think it might be an orchid. Any suggestions? It's a strong red colour and quite prolific, growing among buttercups.

It's been a beautiful sunny, clear blue skied day - but with a chilly wind.

EDIT: Updated the title since I found out that this is common or garden sorrel. Should never have discovered the beauty of its tiny red and yellow petals without digital photography - and the ability to share online!

And, of course, I have seen sorrel before - even knew it's name when I was 10 (one forgets) - but never looked at it closely before!
