Flags for Rugby

Today we picked up friends from Twickenham station and went for a quick wander down Church Street . This is a pedestrianised street with lots of cafes and nice little shops. The Eel Pie is a very old pub much used by rugby supporters. The traders association puts up flags for all sorts of seasons and at the moment during the Rugby World Cup it’s the flags of the home nations who are taking part.

We also went to the riverside and the extra shows the bridge going across to Eel Pie Island which is where the Rolling Stones performed lots in the early days in a Hotel there, now demolished. Note the warning about flooding…the tide was coming up rapidly when we were there. Often people find that there is quite a it of water around their cars parked nearby when they return to them.
