Doing a bit of clearing up.  OK, starting to do a bit of clearing up, and looking through some of these newspapers that had lagged pipes in the basement.  

This is from The Listener from 1958 and conveniently has the name of the house owner written on the front, so that helps reinforce some history.

Some of the papers date from 1987, I guess someone thought they'd add to the insulation though I'm slightly amazed that those pipes, and thus the coal boiler, was still in active use then - especially given the vintage look of the gas boiler we removed when we got here.
