Arctic Circle

We have a day at sea sailing from Nuuk to Ilulissat. We have just crossed the Arctic Circle and it's about 2C outside. The best way to get our 10,000 steps is to do laps of deck 5, which is a pleasure in the sunshine and still air. Nevertheless it is nice to warm up and the ship uses some of the "waste" heat from the engines to heat these outside benches that look a bit like towel rails and are toasty warm. The distant view is the snowy peaks of the mountains on the edge of the Greenland ice cap (extra).

The only animals we have seen are seals hunting round the ship.  There was a good display of the Northern Lights again last night, but it is difficult to take a photo from a rolling deck.
