A day in the life

East side

Our meteorological institute told us yesterday that if you wanted a nice sunny day to have a walk in, tomorrow is the day because autumn chill and rain will arrive on monday. They were right about today being a marvellous day so I decided I needed to see some water and grazing meadows. I went to the east side, a very good place to be if you need a lot of fresh air.

This old road was once the main road to the very small harbour where the house is. On the sides of the road I could see at least two grounds where a house of some sort has been in the past. Fishing and trading with the Baltic countries was the big source of income here, the farming can't have given more than enough to feed a family and maybe a cow. In modern time the houses has moved about two kilometres inland, to the present village. where the new road connects all of the villages on the east side of the island, from north to south
