Glimmer in the gloaming

The sun made a valiant attempt to make a showing after a day of pretty unremitting rain. I wanted to get a shot off the ox-eye daisies, still making a little gleaming point in the gloom. They'll probably be going over by the time we get back. 

Of on an adventure to New England for a guided nature watching holiday.  We planned to go (on a different holiday) in 2020 but we all know why that never happened, then our daughter's wedding last Sept and a brewing Covid variant at the holiday destination scuppered last year's plans. Third time lucky! The weather isn't too great over there either (!) but at least it'll be slightly warmer. 

In protest, the boiler chose to stop working this evening. And a drain got blocked a couple of days ago. Can't do anything now about the former so we'll be back to a cold house, but at least the drain man is booked for the day after we return home!
