Leaving Hope behind

Our local village, St Margaret's Hope, is always referred to as The Hope (or Hup) so I'm not really embracing some terrible doom, just leaving the Hope harbour! Despite the high winds the crossing was fine with only a hefty swell for the final mile or two. The fact that the ferry is a catamaran makes her so stable that we never now experience that awful yawing motion, thank goodness.

An uneventful trip down to Gretna Green with our usual stopping off spots for Berry exercise and human filling. Faskally Loch near Pitlochry was full of blokes busily installing this year's light displays which brings in a lot of extra tourists to the area. Berry managed to avoid tangling herself plus her long lead up in all the equipment lying around; she was focused on chasing pine cones and asking me to scuff up last year's soggy leaves!  I'm a bit bah humbug about the lights; nature needs its rest and I'm not sure a lot of noisy humans tramping around and lighting up the woods is helpful. But then I'm all for peace and quiet whilst others need more stimulating stuff it seems.
