Fox Sparrow, Virginia Lakes, CA

I had a number of good photos from the vicinity of the high-elevation Virginia Lakes, located on the east side of the Sierra-Nevada range. I decided to post this picture of a fox sparrow singing atop a lodgepole pine instead of a ground-foraging gray-crowned rosy finch on the advise of a friend. Though the rosy finch is rarer, this is a much better photograph. I have two more rounds of bird counts at Virginia Lakes, hopefully they will prove to be as good for photography as this was.
