Glorious sunshine

It was wall to wall sunshine this morning with a beautiful blue sky and lovely and warm.  We took the rubbish and recycling to the Waitaki Resource Recovery Park, popped into Mitre10 to exchange some sandpaper for the sander that was the wrong size, and look at toilets and a washbasin for the downstairs loo.  We followed that with a trip to the supermarket.  After we returned home and unloaded the shopping, we set off to walk to Whitestone Cheese to try their Souper Soup, which was cauliflower with Totara Tasty cheese and a cheese roll on the side.  It was very good.  Our next port of call was Dooley’s tile shop, where we clarified the quote we’d received, had another look at the tiles we were considering and confirmed the order.  Exciting stuff!  By the time we’d done that and set off on the return walk the wind had come up from a southerly direction and the temperature dropped.  We were pleased to get home and settle down with a cup of coffee.  I had a phone call with a friend whose birthday was on Tuesday and by then I’d lost interest in doing some painting, so I made cracker biscuits and ginger biscuits and roasted some beetroot.  I also made some sugar-free “jam”.  So quite a productive day.

As we passed the Oamaru Station on the way to Whitestone Cheese we passed these two characters enjoying the sunshine.
