Rain … alll day

It rained heavily during the night and has rained all day.  We’re not complaining, because the garden needs it.  It gave us the opportunity to get things done inside.  I sent some long overdue emails and messages, called my aunt, made some yoghurt, did some cleaning, filled the new cupboards with things that had been sitting on racks that we want to move into the garage and put all the recycling bins out of sight under the stairs.  MrMacD, meanwhile, hung some pictures, put some hooks up in the laundry,  put some finishing touches to the laundry, and braved the rain to go and check the seedlings in the greenhouse. We cooked supper together and just as we were finishing tidying up afterwards a call came through from friends in Queenstown, then I called a friend in Christchurch to decide on a suitable gift for an elderly friend who’s about to turn 90.
