Fishing hut, Gironde

From Bordeaux we drove north up the Gironde peninsular that separates the Garonne estuary from the Atlantic. We stopped here to picnic, with a view of several such huts, built out over the river with a big circular frame for a net to be lowered into the water. However, the only fishing we saw was by men with rods who turned up at the picnic area as we left! The debris floating in the water (tidal at this point) came from floods upstream following heavy rain.
