Escorted by mother

Earlier in the day many local mothers had walked their young to the nearby Woodlands Park Primary School. Some were also walked home by an adult, although many walked alone or with others. Many of the children play in the Waima Reserve, which is up a bank behind our property. 

The four ducklings shown with their mother were mostly just walking with the duck. However, one had clearly fallen a little behind , probably distracted by something. As happens with almost young animals.
