Pink Pile-Up on the Columbine Expressway!

You know how it is. There you are, a pink posy, just cruising down the highway with the wind in your hair . . . without a care in the world. Then, without warning, somebody in front of you hits the brakes. And suddenly, it's a pink pile-up on the Columbine Expressway!

The soundtrack: Pearl Jam, Last Kiss. This is a song that Eddie Vedder talked his band into recording after he came across an old record of it at an antique store in Seattle. Pearl Jam first performed the song in concert on May 7, 1998; they released it as a single on June 8, 1999, with ten million dollars in proceeds aiding the refugees of the Kosovo War.

P.S. These are some of the same columbine flowers I photographed in last week's monochrome shot. Now you can see what color they are! Oh, and no columbine flowers were actually harmed in the making of this blip. :-)
