Morning on the moors

A bit of a flat grey morning but we set off to walk to Ryecroft village and then up onto the moors. Still lots of bluebells flowering at the edge of the fields with a pretty sprinkling of cow parsley.

The moors themselves are looking really green (except for the heather of course) as the bilberries are in full leaf and the ferns starting to emerge though not tall enough to be a nuisance. If you look in large you may see the small bilberries, red at the moment, developing in the plants in the bottom right picture.

The main picture shows the swathes of lovely white moorland cotton grass, contrasting with the dark heather.

The sun is now out but I am in doing my online standardising, it was good to get out before settling down to this frustrating chore working with a machine! What happened to working with people!
