If you can't beat them...

Coventry Canal.

A part of the canal where the towpath side vegetation is much reduced.  Cruising was pleasant and you felt that if you got into difficulties e.g. engine problems you would be able to get in and moor.

BY lunchtime Clickychick wanted to stop and have a change of scene.  Just at the right time we arrived at "The Tame Otter".  This pub/restaurant is not named after an animal that was tame, but rather after the River Tame just a little way down the road.  We had a good break sat in the sun enjoying our drinks.

We cruised on for a couple more hours before arriving at the RSPB Middle Lakes Reserve.  As it was the stage in the week when we should have been turning round we went on to the next "winding hole" ( you can't turn a 58foot boat just anywhere as the canals are too narrow).  We moored for the night beside the reserve ready for a visit.
