Hurst Castle

Today I visited Hurst Castle on the Hampshire Coast near Milford on Sea.  It is only accessible by boat or a 2 mile walk along Hurst Spit from the beach front car park; I chose the latter option.

I have never been here before, and three years or more ago the accessibility "challenges" would certainly have made me discount it, but since retiring my fitness level has improved; I wouldn't contemplate a 9-10 mile round trip, but 5-6 miles over the course of a full day is no longer an issue.
