a lifetime burning

Home Again

Much to my amazement yesterday's travel arrangements went remarkably well, all things considered.  Both the transfer to the airport and the flight were on time.

The two loud leery young lads drinking large glasses of beer in the queue to check in were allowed onto the plane but fortunately took the wrong seats and so ended up sitting in the row in front of me rather than next to me, which was an enormous piece of luck.  So it seems rather ungrateful to carp at the lengthy queuing necessary to get into the border security hall due to several planes having arrived at the airport all at once (who would have thought that might happen?).

The golf clubs survived the baggage handlers as they weren't placed on the main carousel with the other hold luggage.  The carousel blocked at one point and all the remaining cases eventually ended up falling off the carousel when they reached the blockage building into a large tumbled heap of people's luggage.  Ouch!

Today has largely been about sleep and laundry and this (slightly too distant) Jackdaw in flight provided a useful emergency blip.  It's good to be home and back to being able to use what I would call a proper camera.  I very much don't enjoy phone photography.
