Above And Beyond...

The Apple Run

We arrived home about 2.25am after landing at Birmingham airport and navigating the many reduced speed limits due to nightime roadworks, and a seven mile detour due to the M5/M50 junction for Ross on Wye (Herefordshire UK) being closed! By 3am our lights were out and it was lovely to sleep in our own bed.

Whilst Mrs BB sorted out washing, I went shopping and did the 'apple run' to Llangarron, about ten minutes away, to see if the 'free' apples were ready. The householder kindly puts apples from their trees in plastic tubs for anyone to help themeselves and their apples are really tasty!  Another nearby house does tomatoes (50p a punnet) and another free range eggs (£1.25 half dozen).

As I was there I took an aerial photo' of fields around the village showing the changing seasons - the theme for tomorrows W-I-D-E on Wednesday Challenge hosted by Steveng.  The extra shows the probable trees my freebie apples come from! (left hand side)

We did have a ten minute torrential downpour early afternoon but after collecting the apples I was walking around Ross-on-Wye town in the sunshine! There's a storm due tomorrow - welcome home!
