One daze at a time...

The Piano Men

Two lads visibly enamoured with this magnificent Steinway (and Sons).
Following a hot tip from a Dublin Shooter who always has his finger on the pulse of all things tastefully musical around Dublin, I thought I'd get an early birthday present for Pepe and take him to the truly magnificent Whyte hall in the Royal Irish (brrr, two words not meant for one another) Academy of Music to see, and more importantly hear, the extremely talented Regula Mühlemann on voice and long flowing dress, accompanied by the not-exactly-arthritic Tatiana Korsunskaya on piano and sparkly black dress.
As they say in the operatic circles, the sistaz kickt ass!
It was truly magnificent. The acoustic is superb and it was my first time hearing a soprano of this calibre up close and personal in an intimate venue.
All the wood panelling produces a superb acoustic setting and the place smells lovely.
The seats are extremely comfortable too and at my grand old age superior lumbar support is now a big selling point, ahead of opportunities for stage diving.
How things have changed in 35 years...
