Goodbye, September

It was rather coolish today, perfect for doing a few outdoor chores • I raked and removed the grass from the last of the banking, which included rescuing four woolly bears! Are these in addition to yesterday’s or are they one and the same? Only the woolly bears know for sure • We had a nice chat with our neighbors and surprised to learn they’re leaving for Florida for the winter on October 5th, about two weeks earlier than previous years. They told us Louis (the cat) befriended a skunk last month, and the skunk actually sits outside of their house waiting for Louis to come outdoors! No doubt Louis will miss his summer home and nighttime friends, but we’re relieved to see him go. The birds will be much safer • Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
