A view from St Swithin

Glacier Point

We hiked from the valley to Glacier Point and back today. About 10 miles with over 3000ft of ascent so all the Scottish hillwalking has been useful. In truth we were some of the oldest on the trail and were pleased with our fitness. The trail was quiet and gave fantastic views to the big walls - Half Dome in the blip and El Capitan in the extra. We stopped to take in the panorama at the top along with several hundred other folk who’d opted to drive up. Then it was the long plod back down accompanied by a bright blue crested jay - a Steller’s Jay. A great day.
