Tractor family

Frantic texts and messages came winging their way through on Sunday afternoon while we were away at a shooting lunch. None, because of the very convoluted way they were sent were unravelled till 9:00 at night.

To cut a long and involved story short - 13 came from an Emergency Call Centre which you couldn't ring back but they left no message!! MIL had had a fall and couldn't get up and they didn't think to get an ambulance! Having actually spoken to her in the middle of all these coming through to check what was wrong she was absolutely fine with no problem. Therefore the rest we disregarded as a blip. However it transpired she had been on the floor for 6 hours. We still don't understand even now Sunday's events! Luckily when we got to her she was thankfully ok!

The other 8 messages came from a lady at our paddocks saying not to use the tractor because a wagtail was nesting in it! Deciding to act on the info I hot footed over to Malvern to check out the learner driver of the tractor today. Both wagtail parents were working their socks off bringing in gigantic beakfuls of every insect imaginable. Fascinating to see the diet on the computer in large and analyse the beak contents. What a cosy place for a nest though under the bonnet of the engine.

More wagtail shots.
