A morning walk to Waterhead . . . . I wandered to the front of the the Youth Hostel for a change. Damp and breezy as you can see from the photo. I thought about going back through the fields and along the riverside footpath but didn’t want to get my new boots dirty!

In the afternoon the gas man came and serviced the boiler. A cheery young man and he showed me how to increase the pressure. When he said I’d get the paperwork sent in a week or two along with the bill no doubt, I suggested he tell them I’d like a discount to compensate for the two cancelled appointments last week. Don’t think there’s any chance of getting a reduction.
