Stinkhorn Egg

I have been watching this little fungi for a couple of weeks and it seemed to be doing nothing so I decided to have a look inside :)

I would have expected it to have moved on by now, it would start off with this slime over it before it burst out and started smelling to attract flies to help disperse the spores.
