Sad computer

My laptop has died.

It is more than five years old, and the cost I have been quoted for repairing it is not economic for a machine this old (I can get a new one of similar power and capacity for little more - the technology has moved on so much).

Rotten timing: I wanted to take it with me to Iceland on my photographic trip when I go this weekend (to backup my memory cards, to check the day's images and, when I can get internet access, to post my blips).
