Studio Portraiture - Lesson 1

I found a beginners studio portraiture course at a small photographic studio in Oxford the other day.

Due to a quirk of circumstance, I was the only person on the course on this first lesson, which was kind of good, and kind of intimidating.

The course is run by a chap called Sabel Gonzalez from Studio Blanco

Sabel had arranged for a model to come along and, well, model for us. Alesia was a wonderful model, helpful, friendly and very understanding of a beginner with absolutely no idea about posing a model.

All the pictures taken today were done with a single softbox light that was moved around a little.
