No Money for Old Rope Today

H and I walked along the beach from Sheringham to West Runton this morning.  The tide was out but some remaining seawater pools meant a bit of scrambling over groynes, happily all successfully negotiated.

There are a great many wooden sea defences along this stretch of beach, lots of rusting bolts, seaweed and wood worn smooth by the waves to enjoy.

This bunch of rope was tied around one of the posts...I can't imagine why as it was well up the beach.  One of life's mysteries.
