Lunch with Silas

Sunday lunch today at the Finnygook Inn, watched over by Silas Finn or Finny as he was known. Silas Finn practiced his smuggling trade in and around Portwrinkle in South-east Cornwall. He would sometimes be seen going about his business during the day disguised as a woman with a lady of African heritage known as Joan Finn.  One night he was unfortunate enough to be apprehended by the customs men with a haul of contraband. To avoid an almost certain journey to the gallows, he agreed to betray his fellow local smugglers and lured them in to a "safe" cove where they were apprehended. One was his close friend Amram Hooper and another his sister Jochabed. He then fled and left them to their fate. His ghost is said to haunt the cliffs of Crafthole and Portwrinkle, where he wanders the windswept cliffs, racked with guilt for his act of betrayal towards his family and friends.
