Sunset At The Ponte Vecchio

K and I caught the local bus to Siena and caught the train from Siena to Florence for an overnight stay. It was all going so well until we got to Empoli about halfway into the train journey when there was an announcement to say that the train was stopping and everybody had to get off. We must have looked panicked as a very nice Italian lady told us to follow her and she would look after us.! we tried various other ways to get to Florence until our new friend announced that there was a train leaving in a few minutes if we ran we’re just about got it as the doors were shutting,

Luckily, we got to Florence still with enough time to find a hotel and have lunch in the indoor food market before meeting our (slightly bonkers 70 year old) GuruGuide for an afternoons walking tour.

She left us at a lovely rooftop terrace where it would have been rude not to have partaken in a cocktail before heading to watch the sunset at the Ponte Vecchio.
