Lunch

Starting as we mean to go on with a beach day today. It was cloudy when we got up, but by the time S got back from pilates and shopping, it had cleared up, so beach it was. We had time for a laze and a delightfully refreshing swim before lunch at the Bola Marina. We usually go to the Barraca because its shady nooks and crannies are so enticing, but the food is definitely better here. And the view from the table in the shade of a tree wasn't too shabby (extra).

It's mango season! So we shared a starter of elegantly arranged avocado,  mango, and tomato with a yuzu vinaigrette and a scoop of yuzu sorbet. It was delicious as well as looking pretty (blip). Then a regular favourite, tuna tataki with stir-fried vegetables and a reduced PX sauce. Since we shared that too, we had room for shared dessert -- a very generous slice of cheesecake. Unusually for Spain, it was a baked one and absolutely perfect in flavour and texture. Hardly surprising we needed a siesta after that lot.

The clouds eventually started rolling in late afternoon, along with a sea breeze, so we headed home for a quiet evening in. No dinner needed. S picked up our wifi hotspot from town this morning, so now we have bandwidth -- here's the album of photos from yesterday's romería.
