Hot and Dry! The road to Spain…

Day 18 - The road to Spain, which starts just beyond the water in the picture. The border between Portugal and Spain is a small creek just here. Taken on a morning walk when we were trying (not totally successfully) to avoid the heat.
Another lovely day - I’m starting to like the siesta concept with activity in the morning and evening. Today’s evening activity was Eileen’s birthday party. It was held on a public terrace in Monsaraz and we watched the sun go down and a little later watched the stars come out. Very little light pollution and stars very like at home in Sweden, but in the wrong place! Interesting to talk to so many people who have moved here from different parts of Europe, mostly.
