Fly agaric

I was delighted to come across this brightly coloured fungus poking through the moss and fallen leaves. However, there was a surprise when I viewed it from the opposite angle (see extra).
It was much drier today although quite grey for most of the day. Nick made the most if the lull in the weather and, with the help of his good friend Tractor Man, he got the boat out of the water and safely under cover for the winter.
I’m feeling very unsettled by the extreme weather events here over the weekend, the continuing war in Ukraine and the very worrying developments in Israel.
