Sunny day with Luca

Luca's four now, and while he loves pottering around with us at home on his Mondays here, outings are good too. Taking advantage of the unusually warm October day, Richard and I took him to Yorkshire Wildlife Park. En route there were many chats with Luca about what he spotted on the motorway: car transporters, for instance ('what do they transform into?' said L, having slightly misheard our description). 
Soon we were at the Park, near Doncaster. YWP is a partner in various conservation and animal rescue initiatives, and the animal enclosures are spacious and designed to mimic the animals' natural environment. This is still captivity, however, and I have mixed feelings about it.  It's also an 'attraction' on a huge scale, and can be very crowded.
An October weekday was a good bet, however, and we had plenty of time and space to explore.  Seeing polar bears and Amur tigers close-up was particularly special. There are good play areas dotted about the place too, and Luca loved the challenge of climbing up nets to reach a steep tube slide.
Later, when I was taking him home, I had some music playing on Spotify, through the car music system. 'How does the song get to the radio?' he asked. I am not enough of a scientist to be able to answer that question. Luca is an intent observer, and always has 'how does that work?' questions. As with many of his questions, I'll have to go away now and find an explanation that we can both follow.
