Between Sky and Sea

Day 21 - 12 October. Out on the lake again in the kayak, this time paddling with Jan from a wild beach, across the lake to the Monsaraz beach bar.  The water was absolutely flat with no wind. It both looked and felt a bit weird. Once at our destination we found amandoAlentejo and Mikedetrapia, with cold beer waiting and lunch ordered! After lunch they paddled the return journey and we drove the car back and eventually we were reunited. I write “eventually” because we took a long-cut and they had to wait a while for us to arrive.
Later in the day, after some hot work sorting stuff, we got cleaned up and dressed in our glad rags to walk to the village for our evening meal.
Another lovely day of activity and siesta.
Tomorrow we turn ‘Arry the campervan west and then northwards, crossing back into Spain to start the long trip home. We reckon 10 days but it depends how many stops we make and who we drop in on.
Coincidentally this hot weather is due to end tomorrow, rain and much cooler temperatures are forecast, which will be a relief for many. Personally I’m getting accustomed to the warmth and will miss it slightly!
