Wound up in Wexford

A gentle sunset sky

An interesting delivery from An Post this morning.  W got a couple of parcels.  I received a tracked letter.  This was posted on 15th Sept from Edinburgh.  Tracking info has persistently informed me it was in Dublin.  A few days ago, I emailed to ask what was happening, and yesterday I was told it had been returned to sender due to inadequate/inaccurate customs declaration.  Today, it arrived!  Talk about the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing - in this case I think the left hand didn't even know there is a right hand!

Later this morning, W managed to get through to the State Pensions folk (and safely navigate the security questions!) and they accepted over the phone, from both of us, new address and banking details so that our pension will now be paid into our Irish bank accounts.  NHS pensions, on the other hand, insist on a form being filled in and posted to them.  And transferring W's SIP is proving more complex - many forms to be completed.

So a bit more done towards closing down the UK bank accounts.

Weather started off rainy, but by midday it had cleared up.  It's forecast to be a nice weekend.  It was good to see this gentle sunset sky.
