Above And Beyond...

Hen & Dot

We set off from home about midday with our friends and neighbours to go cycling, when Mrs BB suggested stopping at The Hen & Dot Cafe, Flanesford Priory, in our village of Goodrich (Herefordshire). Our neighbours are regular visitors but Mrs BB and I have never been despite knowing the owner, Nigel, who owns it and his daughters Henrietta and Dorothy run it - hence the name!

It's in a stunning old building situated under Goodrich Castle, and also has lovely outdoor seating areas overlooking the River Wye and surrounding hillside. The blip is us sat outside, in the sunshine, enjoying our coffee.

We continued on our ride via Symonds Yat, to Coleford (Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire) and home using muddy off road tracks through forestry and alsongside the River Wye. Total mileage 27.5 miles. We arrived home about 5.30pm and with the sun going down it'd gone a bit chilly. Lovely seeing wild deer run infront of us in the forest. Another lovely day over too fast!
