The beach between

Such a long and lovely sunny day. Dropped FK at Colchester to complete a day's leadership training with Cadets.
MrK and I travelled a further half an hour to Alton water park run. What a glorious spot with water, Highland cattle and a PB for me! Jogged a bit more today. Lovely to have MrK with me too.
After coffee sitting outside, we made our way to Shotley, that is at the end of the peninsula and has views of Felixstowe and Harwich. A passenger ferry goes regularly to both. There was a little craft fair happening and quite a buzz of milling people around the marina.
We then went onto Pin Mill, my extra, where the tide was fully in lapping along the road. The pub is right on the corner with great outside seating to watch the goings on. A couple of men pulled up in a tandem canoe, they'd paddled from Harwich, hoping going back would be easier. Then a couple came across with their dog, a Mongolian Bankhar. They took their shoes and socks off to walk through the high water. After them a couple of young girls on horses were initially a little nervous but eventually made it to the other side. The lady wanting to get to her cottage had to wait.
We drove onto Harwich which was heaving with people and cars for the Shanty festival. We drove round a couple of times but there was literally no space.
We moved up to the Blue Flag beach at Dovercourt and had a lovely walk past the beach huts at the front with a stop for cuppa and cake. I had my swim kit in the car but the wind was too cold.
FK was ready to be picked up so we headed back to Colchester. Lots of new places today.
