Bruce's Stone

In March 1307 King Robert the Bruce had returned from exile in the Hebrides and was in hiding around the Raploch Moss, where an English army was encamped
He attacked at dawn and, while his army picked over the dead, he rested on this rock (which predates the construction of the Clatteringshaws reservoir).

Shortly afterwards at GlenTrool, Bruce again defeated the English, where there is another Bruce's Stone and there are others elsewhere.
