Fallow Deer ( Dama dama )

This morning Clickychick saw some shots of Red Deer taken by the son of a friend of hers, an ex-pupil of mine.  It was a lovely afternoon so she suggested we have a run out to where we could get some deer shots.  Obviously, these aren't Red Deer nor are they wild they are park deer.

Fallow deer rut between September and November.  There were no signs of aggression among the five bucks in the herd.  Two mature stags with palmate antlers and three youngsters with antlers that had not yet begun to form palms.  The herd was large with lots of this year's fawns among them.
