Homeward bound

From London and St James's tonight after dinner at the Royal Ocean Racing Club with various sailing people including world match racing champion Ian Williams. Ian who? Ian Williams. Williams, a lawyer, took the professional route in match racing while Sir Ben Ainslie, a contemporary, took the Olympic route. Today they sometimes compete against each other. The decision of Larry Ellison to draft Ainslie in to his America's Cup squad would suggest that Ainslie chose the more successful path but, on his day, Williams can give him a run for his money. The last time the two went head to head, Ainslie won, 3-1. It seems extraordinary that three-times world champion Williams is not well known in the UK when Ainslie is recognised now as one of our greatest Olympians. But that's sailing.

Not much in the camera but this tube shot. That's the way it is just now.

I went to the gym this morning for the first time in ages. Survived!
