Neighbors

We had a quiet day. My sister and I inventoried the freezers to make sure we have everything we need to be here 22 days in a row in November/December. That is certainly our longest stay in WV. We are bringing Parker up before Thanksgiving and have tickets to a Kenny G concert on 7 December (a Christmas gift from my sister and BIL) so that affects how long we’ll stay. There was only enough laundry for one load - an easy day. We wrapped our neighbor’s birthday gifts and took them to her. She turned 89 in early October. She loved everything in our pumpkin themed basket of goodies. This son, a twin (she has eight children) is slowly recovering from cancer surgery. He takes care of cutting grass when we are not here in the summer. His puzzle was much harder than ours. The guys picked up more walnuts while we were gone (they have collected at least 60 5-gallon buckets so far). They cut the grass before more nuts fall. We came home, ate lunch and made the apple pie and apple crisp in my extra. We are so fortunate to have the apple trees. The neighbors may have an apple crisp in their future. Our BIL has dinner duty - a fish fry. After clean up, it will be Kindle time. Hubby’s puzzle is almost complete; he brought he Kindle too. I hope your day was as nice. Thanks for stopping by. Stay safe. “Being a good neighbor is an art which makes life richer”. - Gladys Taber
