Seasonal

Chinese lanterns or
Physalis alkekengi:
our garden's west end.

Well, the rain has stopped, but the garden remains very squelchy. I love these plants. It's many years since I had any in my garden, so am very much enjoying these. They grow in the front garden, right by the hedge, and I cannot see them from the house, but it was dry enough to pop out and grab a photo. Meanwhile, my Extra is of marigolds, enjoying their second flowering this year, in a stony spot near the back garden shed.

Now need to spend the evening cracking on with the pumpkin hat, so that both children have one for Halloween. Wish I could knit a bit faster!
