Was it Worth it?

We’ve been gathering up the hazelnuts that have fallen from our corkscrew hazel tree.

As M and I were catching up on some F1 motor racing prior to watching the Grand Prix this evening, I decided to shell my hazelnuts at the same time. That took me well over an hour.

Then I roasted them to loosen the skins, but some were still stuck on the nuts so another hour was spent cleaning them up.

I’ve ended up with 140g of ready to use nuts. Not sure it was worth it really but I will make good use of them in a recipe soon.

Waste not want not as my mother would have said.
