Back in the water

Only up to my chest, mind, as there was a big swell, and I wasn't taking any risks. Also, the sand on the beach (and also in the water below low tide level) has gone. While I had neoprene socks on to keep my feet warm, they aren't really much good for walking on pebbles and rocks. I will need to adjust. The dunes below the car park have also been badly damaged in places. especially where people just walk down the dunes to the beach. Duh. Mind you, if the beach stays just pebbles, this might put people off.

Well, that was a life-enhancing trip to Shandwick (see also extra for the harbour mouth, which has been regularly photographed), and it was great to see sunshine for most of the day and to be able to do stuff. Aside from the trip to the beach, there was a bit of stuff in the garden, including cutting back a few plants that are looking bedraggled after the rain and wind, repotting the eleagnus, as promised yesterday, and a bit of weeding and general tidying. However, there was limited scope for this, as our brown bin is almost full as the bloody Council (cooncil) have not been to empty it since much earlier in October. I hope it might go tomorrow or Tuesday. I've left it out, along with our blue bin, which should also be collected in the next few days. The bin collection rotas are an absolute mess.

We are just about to go round to see A and N (and Elmer the noisy dog). Hopefully we can get a word in edgeways.
